Services by material type
Find the service for the material you have.
What material do you have?
Four common material types, and the service that applies to each.
-
Magnetic tape
Cartridges and reels that no current drive can read. We read 3480, LTO, 9-track and most other cartridge and reel formats on maintained period hardware, then copy the data to modern media.
Tape transcription -
Film, drawings and paper
Microfilm reels, microfiche, roll film, large-format drawings, well logs and paper files. We scan the material, index it to your naming scheme, and return searchable PDFs with OCR.
Document scanning -
Records held for retention
Contracts, tax files, project archives, backup tapes, and core and drilling samples. We catalogue each item, hold it in climate-controlled storage, and retrieve it on request.
Secure storage -
Seismic survey data
2D and 3D survey data held across different media and spreadsheets. We catalogue it into one archive that you search yourself, plot the lines on the Dominion Land Survey grid, and let you order copies online.
Seismic data management
Most jobs include more than one material type
A records room rarely holds one format. A single project usually includes boxes of paper, film, drawings and tapes together. We quote and track these as one job, not as four separate jobs.
One vendor for the full life of the material keeps the record in one place. We inventory all material on arrival, transcribe the tape, scan the paper and film, store what you must keep, and destroy what you must not keep. One catalogue covers all of it.
Clients are not only in the energy industry
Seismic data is the most difficult case, not the only case. Law firms, accountants, engineering companies, municipalities and family businesses use the same storage, the same scanners and the same catalogue.
Send us a rough inventory
An approximate count of boxes, tapes, reels or drawing tubes is sufficient to quote from. There is no obligation and no charge for the discussion.
